Summer Spotlight: Shakespeare in the Park(s)
Two great opportunities this month for Hamdenites to enjoy “Shakespeare in the Park”. One at Town Center Park, the other at Edgerton Park. Both free. See links below for more details on each. Plus, a new exhibition at Yale’s Sterling Memorial Library on Shakespeare’s First Folio starting on August 21st.
Berserker Theatre presents “Measure for Measure” @ Town Center Park. Four performances over three days — two evenings and two matinees. August 4th-6th. Link for more details.
Elm Shakespeare Company presents “The Merry Wives of Windsor” @ Edgerton Park. Daily performances (except Mondays) at 7:30pm for two weeks, August 18th to September 3rd. Link for more details.
This exhibit celebrates a portion of the Elizabethan Club’s rare book collections. The exhibit constellates around William Shakespeare’s First Folio (1623). The "First Folio” established Shakespeare’s iconic status. Link for more details.

“Damn Yankees” presented by the Whitney Players Theater Company. 7pm @ Hamden High School. Link for tickets.
NHdocs @ BVFCC. 7pm. Includes a discussion with the filmmakers after the viewing. Link for more details.
American Red Cross blood drive @ Whitneyville Cultural Commons. Every Friday 12:15-6pm. Walk-ins are welcome.
Final Night: Yale Carillon Summer Concert Series. Carillonneurs from all over the world are invited to come play the bells at Harkness Tower. Concerts are free and open to the public, and are held every Friday from 7-8pm. Link for more details.
