Hamden’s Space Ballroom announces a new partnership with Long Wharf Theatre for a series of performances of 'Live From the Edge' by UNIVERSES at Space Ballroom! The performances will be over a 4-week period in April and May. The shows will blend a range of performance styles — from childhood rhymes to poetry, community rituals, hip-hop, gospel, and more. Enter an immersive musical that draws inspiration from headline news and builds off the energy of the audience to make you reimagine what theatre can be.

Saturday Jan 28
11th Annual Lunarfest Parade. 10am. The largest celebration of Lunar New Year and Chinese culture in CT, promoting cross-cultural awareness and understanding and embracing community collaborations. After the parade, in the afternoon, there will be educational activities, workshops, and performances hosted at the New Haven Museum, the NHFPL, Creative Arts Workshop, and Yale Office of International Students & Scholars. Hamden’s Eli Whitney Museum is one of many cultural institutions participating in the Lunarfest day of events after the parade. 2-4pm. Free. Build, decorate, and interact with your own Chinese-dragon automaton in a hands-on workshop with Eli Whitney Museum apprentices. Also pick up a “Year of the Rabbit” kit to make at home.
