Summer Spotlight: Summer Enrichment @ HPL
The Hamden Public Library offers myriad enrichment programs for PreK-12 students this summer. The Children’s Center and the Teen Center both offer valuable programming in reading, art, music, STEM, writing, and more. Checkout the full calendar of programs here.
Summer Reading Challenge:
Additionally, HPL offers the “Summer Reading Challenge” for kids and teens beginning June 17th, ending August 16th.
“Designed for all ages, this years summer reading program will feature the idea and practice of conservation. Conservation as a movement focuses on protecting species from extinction, maintaining and restoring habitats, enhancing ecosystem services, and protecting biological diversity. Read, Renew, Repeat makes for a wonderfully diversified summer reading program that encourages reading as a restorative method of self-improvement and self-preservation.”
Free Museum Passes:
HPL offers FREE museum passes for many of CT’s incredible cultural attractions, museums, galleries, zoo, science/STEM centers, etc. Options include: Beardsley Zoo, CT Science Center, Discovery Museum & Planetarium, Mystic Seaport, Wadsworth, Stepping Stones, and many many more.
