Winter Wonders: Tournament Time!!

Defending Champs on Dixwell Ave and Whitney Ave, both pursuing back-to-back championships this month!!

The Hamden HS girls hoops squad has already repeated as SCC conference champions, with a tournament victory last week. Now they are seeking another CIAC state championship, having advanced to the semifinals with 2 state tournament wins already and semifinal game this Friday. On the ice, the QU men’s hockey team is looking for a second NCAA national championship. First, they compete for another ECAC conference tournament championship next weekend. Plus, the QU women’s hockey team is ranked Top-10 in America and hoping for a bid into the NCAA tournament this week, too.

#1-ranked Hamden HS girls’ basketball has reached the semifinals of the CIAC state tournament with a Friday night matchup this week (link). Winner moves on to the championship game in the Mohegan Sun Arena.
#8-ranked Quinnipiac women’s ice hockey awaits the NCAA tournament selection show on March 10th, looking for a spot in the NCAA tournament regionals March 14-17 (link).
#7-ranked Quinnipiac men’s ice hockey hosts a “best of 3” quarterfinals in the ECAC conference tournament March 15-17 @ QU’s M&T Bank Arena (link).
