“Exploring Artism” @ NHFPL. 12:30pm. Free program for children 5-12 years old and on the autism spectrum. Children and their families, parents, siblings will find a welcoming, engaging, and inclusive learning environment. Participants practice social skills and learn ways to sustain attention and focus by exploring works of art and trying no-fail follow up-activities. A quiet space with sensory toys is available. “Forest Bathing” – aka Shinrin Yoku. SGPA invites you to experience “forest bathing”at Sleeping Giant State Park. The hike will be led by Dr. Jennifer Botwick, adjunct faculty at SCSU in the Dept. of Public Health teaching Stress Management, Wellness and Weight management. 1-3pm. Free. “Highlights Tour” @ YUAG. 1:30-2:30pm. Free. An interactive tour of the YUAG’s history, architecture, and global collection. Focusing on a handful of objects chosen to showcase both the permanent collection and special exhibitions currently on view, no two tours are the same. Link for more details.
“Stories & Art” @ YUAG. 1-2pm. Free. YUAG invites families for folktales, myths, and exciting stories from around the world that highlight unique features of objects in the collection and inspire children of all ages to view art in new ways. Link for more details.
