Spring Showcase: Golf in Hamden
With spring upon us, Hamden includes 4 great golfing opportunities: The Vue (formerly Laurel View), Sleeping Giant Golf Course, New Haven Country Club, and Golf Cove.
The Vue (formerly Laurel View Country Club) is in the midst of a multi-million dollar, multi-year upgrade. The beautiful brand new event venue and banquet facility has been completed (see photos below), which includes the new golf clubhouse and bar and grill. The public golf course remains fully open as work continues around the 18-hole layout (new cart paths, bunkers, driving range, practice green, etc).
Sleeping Giant Golf Course is an affordable, convenient, public 9-hole course with the iconic state park as a scenic backdrop. They offer a “twilight league” for golfers seeking after-work play each spring and summer. The course includes a driving range and practice green.
New Haven Country Club is a historic private club in Hamden situated alongside Lake Whitney. The club dates back to 1898, is considered one of the best courses in the state, and has hosted numerous Championship events over the years.
Golf Cove is an indoor golf lounge with state-of-the-art golf simulators for year-round golf rounds, practice, and lessons. Located on State Street (technically, a few blocks across the town line), it offers leagues, memberships, packages, and private events.
