Fall Feature: CT Folk Fest
The annual CT Folk Fest & Green Expo returns to Edgerton Park this Saturday, September 7th, for a full day of family fun. The popular event began decades ago and includes: “live music from local acts to national headliners, delicious food trucks and a Green Expo highlighting artisan vendors, non-profits, workshops, and a jam-packed day of activities and experiences in the Green Kids Zone.” This recent Hartford Courant article shares more info about the event and its history.
CT Folk is dedicated to the furtherance of folk music in all of its varied forms which may include, but is not limited to: Classic and Contemporary Folk, Roots Country, Bluegrass, Roots Rock, Blues, Jazz, Zydeco, World, Western Swing, Roots Gospel, Celtic, and more.
Interestingly, Edgerton Park is split between Hamden and New Haven, with most of the park on the Hamden side of the town line, yet New Haven manages the park. Regardless, it’s a great site for a great music festival for Hamdenites to enjoy each year as a kickoff to fall.
