The many great neighborhoods of Hamden will have the usual Halloween trick-or-treating events at the end of the month, of course. Below is a great list of additional opportunities for fun with the Halloween theme in and around Hamden this month. Community events and activities for all ages - kids, families, and adults.

Boomer’s Boo Bash @ QU. Saturday October 19th 10am-2pm. Community spirit brings fun Halloween festivities for area residents to participate in a fun, family-friendly and welcoming event. The free event includes activities, prizes, and giveaways, as well as an opportunity to meet with Boomer the Bobcat. Link for more details.
Trunk-or-Treat (and Fall Festival) @ Hamden YMCA Camp Mountain Laurel. Saturday October 26th 10-1pm. Fall crafts, sports, hiking, and other family fun events. The Fall Festival will culminate with the Trunk or Treat event! Registration required. Link for more details.

“Spooktacular” celebration October 26 from 10am to 5pm. Suggested for little ones up to age 10. Come in costume and learn about spectacular creatures, collect fun items, and explore the wonderful weirdness of the Peabody’s collections up close. Teen Halloween Party @ Miller Memorial Library. Tuesday Oct 31st 3-4:30pm. Enjoy a spooky afternoon full of fun! There will be a green screen for photo shoots, games, activities, and crafts. Come as you are or get dressed up and participate in the costume contest. This program is for teens in grades 7-12. All supplies are provided. Registration is required. The program is free and made possible by the Friends of Hamden Library. Link to register.

Free Family Fun Day @ Shubert Theatre. Sunday October 13th 10am-1pm. Event includes walking backstage tour of the theatre with trick or treat stations along the way, as well as an arts and crafts area. Best Video Film & Culture Center presents a Halloween weekend special event on October 26ht at 7pm: a performance by Ramones tribute band The Hymans, followed by a screening of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre!" Link for more details and tickets.

Halloween Party at The Lab at ConnCorp. There will be a bounce house on the front lawn and fun spilling out of the Recess Café. Pizza, drinks, activities, CANDY and more! The New Haven Chorale is thrilled to bring back its Halloween Concert for Children in its 75th Anniversary Season! The choristers will be wearing their Halloween costumes and children of all ages are encouraged to come in costume as well. There will also be an opportunity for the children to come up and conduct the Chorale! This will be a fun and educational concert tailored for you, your children, and grandchildren.
