Hamden HS State Champions & QU Frozen Four!!!!

A historic winter for Hamden sports teams and student-athletes. Check out the highlight videos, photos, interviews, and articles below. First, the Hamden HS girls basketball team and dance team. Next, the QU mens ice hockey team.

A historic season for the Hamden High Green Dragons girls basketball team. The program’s first CIAC state championship. Undefeated and the unanimous #1 in the final rankings. The team played the toughest schedule in the state, and perhaps one of the toughest schedules in CIAC basketball history. The Green Dragons finished 27-0, and had 18 wins this season against teams that were ranked in the Top 10 at some point this season. 12 wins against teams that finished the season in the final Top 20 rankings. Incredible.

QU headed to the Frozen Four!!!!

The QU men’s ice hockey team will compete for the NCAA national championship next week! Ranked in the Top 5 most of the season, and entering the NCAA tournament ranked #2 in the nation, they won the Bridgeport regional last Sunday. Now they travel to the Frozen Four with a semifinal matchup against the University of Michigan on Thursday April 6th at 8:30pm. A win there will put them in the national championship game Saturday night, April 8th, versus either Boston University or the University of Minnesota. Both Frozen Four games will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2.

Hamden High Dance Team

The HHS Dance team finished an amazing winter with 1st place finishes in the CIAC state championship kickline and pom divisions. Then the team travelled to Florida and finished 2nd in the national tournament for kickline and 12th in pom.
