Dine local! Hamden Restaurant Week is a great opportunity to support local small businesses and entrepreneurs in our community. After several years of pandemic limitations, now, more than ever, is a great time to get out and try Hamden’s restaurants - old and NEW. Click here for participating restaurants & special offers.
Note: The Hamden Arts Commission is partnering with the event to include Hamden musicians preforming live at locations throughout the week.
Below is a list highlighting new(ish) additions to the Hamden restaurant scene. Some of these are new this year, others are recent additions that may have been missed because of pandemic factors and limitations that last couple years.
In no particular order…
Roishi - Sushi, Asian Noodle Bowls, Bubble Tea, and more. Located on Whitney Ave near town center. Link to menu.
La Isla - Across from Town Center Park and the Miller Library, this new addition has received a lot of press coverage and positive reviews. Link to menu.
Mazorca Authentic Mexican - A Mexican family cooking Mexican food, including daily specials and serving in a casual setting. Plenty of online praise from customers for “authentic Mexican cuisine, not Tex-Mex”. Link to menu.
The Glen - Newest restaurant from the popular Amici Restaurant Group. New menu. Indoor (table or bar) and outdoor patio seating options. Located on Whitney Ave in Spring Glen. Link to menu.
Orale Tacos - Excellent tacos and more in a casual setting with indoor and outdoor patio seating options. Located on Dixwell Ave near DiSorbos. Link for menu.
Grab & Go Empanadas - Opened just 2 years ago with a steadily growing fan-base. Located between HHS & Home Depot just off Dixwell. Link for menu.
Tavern By The Hall - Live music, karaoke night, trivia night, bar, billiards, and a full food menu. As the name implies, just a few doors down from Town Hall on Whitney Ave. Link for menu.
P&M - Super successful establishment from East Rock now open in Hamden near QU on Whitney Ave. Link for menu.
Harold’s - Soul Food on Arch St (near SCSU and Whitney Tech HS) with a lot of positive online customer reviews. Link for menu.
BOMB Rice & Wings - A world of flavors for takeout or delivery - Peruvian, Thai, Jamaican, Cajun, Chinese, Korean, Vegetarian, and more. Link for menu.
