1. Hamden Splash Pad @ Villano Park
Beat the heat @ Hamden’s beautiful Villano Park Splash Pad. Perfect for a summer afternoon with neighbors and friends - old and new. Plus awesome playground structures for kids of all ages. 2. “Water Lab” @ Eli Whitney Museum
Beat the heat @ Hamden’s very own Eli Whitney Museum & Workshop, which includes an outdoor “Water Lab” open/activated for kids & families to investigate, experiment, and enjoy (11am-4pm). Additionally, they offer free weekend STEM projects for kids & families to build various watercraft inside the museum/workshop (10am-3pm) before heading out to the water lab so kids can experiment with their project creations. Friday July 14
Hamden Summer Concert Series @ Town Center Park. Opening act at 7:30pm, Main act at 8pm. Enjoy the smooth sounds of The Timmy Maia Band, a native of Waterbury, CT bringing hits from today’s Top 40, jazz, classic rock and pop to Town Center Park with his extensive musical repertoire. He will take you on a soulful journey with his incredible sound and energy. The opening act is R&B, Funk, Soul & Eclectic dance and show band, The Bernadettes with an emphasis on classic "old school" R&B, representing beloved, timeless classics with a memorable performance. The mission of the 7th Annual Compassionfest is to unite like-minded people who believe in the values of being just, kindness, equality and compassion. We'll gather for delicious vegan food and animal-friendly product providers, non-profits, local artisans, vegan tattooing, music, & healing workshops for all ages. Walk-in STEM projects @ Hamden’s Eli Whitney Museum. Free. 10am-3pm. For children ages 5-12. A museum apprentice will work with your child as they build a project and begin to experiment. Sessions last from 20 minutes to an hour. Projects change from weekend to weekend. Link for more details.
